The Hill of Croix-Rousse

The Hill of Croix-Rousse

From the preserved Gallo-Roman remains (Amphitheatre of the Three Gauls) to the plateau, the buildings on this hill, rebuilt at the start of the 20th century, once housed the quarter’s Canuts (silk workers). A labyrinth of small streets and traboules (passages through houses), this district is listed as a world heritage site.
