Old Lyon

Old Lyon

With its alleys, traboules (passages through houses), museums, the Place Saint-Jean and its cathedral, its astronomical clock, the Philibert Delorme Gallery, the old courthouse ... Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon) is, as the name suggests, the oldest part of Lyon. Located on the edge of the Saône river, at the foot of the hill of Fourvière, the quarter is one of Europe’s most extensive districts dating from the medieval and Renaissance periods to remain intact to the present day, rivalled only by Venice.
